How BetMGM Rewards Work
MGM Rewards is a dual-currency loyalty program. Every wager earns two things simultaneously: points (redeemable for free play, comps, and perks) and tier credits (which determine your tier level and unlock progressively better benefits).
The earn rates vary by product:
- Slots: 1 tier credit + 10 MGM Rewards points per $1 wagered
- Video poker: 1 tier credit + 5 points per $5 wagered
- Table games (RNG): 1 tier credit per $5 wagered
- Live dealer: 1 tier credit per $10 wagered
- Sportsbook: 1 tier credit per $10 wagered on settled wagers
- Poker: tier credits earned via iRewards points (rake-based)
Redeeming MGM Rewards Points
Points are where the real value lives. The iRewards store inside the BetMGM app offers:
- BetMGM free play — 100 points = $1 in casino free play or sportsbook free bets
- Hotel stays — redeem at Bellagio, MGM Grand, Borgata, ARIA, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM National Harbor, and 15+ other properties
- Dining comps — restaurants at any MGM Resorts property
- Show tickets — Cirque du Soleil, residencies, concerts

BetMGM Tier Credits: What Each Tier Unlocks
Sapphire is the entry tier — everyone starts here. Perks include a birthday gift, occasional free play, and priority email support. Pearl (20,000 TC) adds waived resort fees at MGM properties, priority hotel check-in, and a 1.25x point-earn multiplier. Gold (75,000 TC) adds complimentary breakfast, occasional room upgrades, and a 1.5x multiplier.
Platinum (200,000 TC) is where the serious perks kick in: free stays (typically 2-4 nights per year), complimentary show tickets, access to Platinum Lounges at MGM properties, and a 2x point multiplier. Platinum players also get dedicated concierge support and invitations to VIP events. NOIR is invitation-only — the top 0.1% of players — with private jet service, butler access, private gaming rooms, and bespoke experiences.
Linking MGM Rewards with BetMGM
If you already have an MGM Rewards number from a prior Las Vegas stay or M life account, link it in the BetMGM app under Account → MGM Rewards → Link Card. Your online BetMGM play will then add to your existing tier credit balance, and any tier status carries over.
If you don't have an MGM Rewards number, one is automatically created when you open a BetMGM account. You can use it at any MGM Resorts property on your next visit by quoting the number at hotel check-in or the casino cage.
Strategic Play: Maximizing MGM Rewards
- Play slots if you want tier credits fast. At 1 TC per $1, slots are the fastest path to Platinum.
- Play table games for lower house edge + tier credits. The lower earn rate is offset by dramatically better long-run expected value if you know basic strategy.
- Hit promo tier multiplier events. BetMGM runs periodic 2x/3x tier credit weekends — bank tier credits then.
- Combine online + physical play. Tier credits earned at Bellagio or Borgata in person count the same as online credits. Plan a Vegas trip around tier qualification.
